Chiropractic care for Jaw Pain

Jaw pain often occurs when there is an acute or chronic inflammation of the temporomandibular joint, which is the jaw bone that connects your mandible to your skull. This can affect the joints, jaw muscles, and facial nerves around your jaw.

Jaw dysfunction can also cause headaches and migraines which could require additional chiropractic care.

The joints are located on either side of your head to connect the lower jaw bone (your mandible) to the temporal bones of the skull on each side of your head. The muscles controlling the joints are attached to the mandible and allow the jaw to move.

People with jaw pain often feel a clicking of the jaw, or popping of the jaw when you open your mouth. There are a variety of reasons this may occur, such as from unjust, teeth grinding, or degenerative joint diseases such as arthritis.

Gentle chiropractic adjustments may help treat the causes of joint pain.
